The two part webinar series focussed on the revised requirements relating to CARO 2020.
In February 2020, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs after consultation with the National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA), notified the Companies (Auditor’s Report) Order, 2020 (CARO 2020) which replaces CARO 2016. Every report made by the auditor of specified class of companies under Section 143 of the Companies Act, 2013 (2013 Act) for the financial year commencing on or after 1 April 2020 would include CARO 2020.
CARO 2020 includes several new clauses and has re-drafted certain existing clauses of CARO 2016 for drawing out detailed comments from auditors in the audit report issued by them.
The two part webinar series focussed on the revised requirements relating to CARO 2020. Additionally, the sessions discussed some of the significant implementation issues relating to CARO 2020 for companies in India.
