The Indian segment of KPMG International’s latest global future of HR survey, 2018 indicates that HR leaders in India today, exhibit better acknowledgement and recognition of the need for change in HR vis-à-vis their global counterparts. Business landscape of the organizations are changing rapidly, hence most business and HR leaders who participated in the survey have recognized the need for both a workforce and digital transformation. 92 per cent of the leaders feel that HR is assuming a more strategic role, but only 81 per cent feel that HR is seen driving value within organisations and only 70 per cent of them indicate preparation or an ongoing digital transformation. However, they are keen on bringing the change and riding on the digital wave by making increased investment and efforts, focused on the usage of newer disruptive technologies like AI and enhanced process automations, in the future. HR as a function, will be in a unique position to drive added business value and success. So, going forward, the HR function will need to be more strategic, agile and evolving in order to create the workplace of future
