Not-for-profits in India- Impact of Key Tax and Regulatory Amendments
28 April 2021 | 4.00 p.m. - 5.00 p.m. IST
The not-for-profit landscape in India has undergone transformational changes over the past few years impacting the way such organisations operate and undertake their charitable activities.
Such significant changes are expected to streamline the overall charitable activities in the country and create a database for the regulators. At the same time, it creates an enormous challenge on the limited infrastructure available with such non-profits to comprehend and comply with these tax and regulatory changes. Such organisations are required to re-register themselves with the income-tax authorities every five years, realign their activities due to amendments under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 (‘FCRA’) and prepare for renewals under the FCRA as well.
We hosted a webinar organised jointly with GiveIndia to discuss, analyse and share our views on the way forward with our esteemed panel members including subject matter experts and key stakeholders in the sector.
