With over 18 years of Audit and Accounting experience, Paul has held a number of operational and market-facing roles at multiple locations.
He is currently associated with KPMG as the Partner in charge of audit for KPMG Resource Centre Private Limited (KRCPL) in India — one of the two captive offshore businesses supporting KPMG member firms globally. The business started in 2008 and now has over 900 employees supporting eight member firms across a full range of Audit and Accounting services.
Prior to joining KRC in September 2015, Paul worked as a Partner at KPMG’s Scotland office, leading the UK firm’s Oil and Gas practice in Aberdeen. He led a significant change, both operationally, implementing best practices, and in positioning KPMG as the market leader in oilfield services. During his five-year stint in Aberdeen, he achieved growth of over 70 per cent.
He has significant experience leading projects for a broad range of clients, from SMEs and family businesses to the FTSE 250, AIM and large multinational groups. Paul has supported a wide range of clients in the oilfield services, from start-ups — throughout all stages of the life cycle and overseas expansion — to large international groups. He has worked closely with fast-growing groups and PE-backed entities to raise finance, and benchmark and enhance controls, implement robust accounting policies and perform IT reviews to improve IT control environments.
He has also worked on sectors such as building and construction, food and beverages, and industrial manufacturing — with clients reporting under UK GAAP, IFRS and US GAAP — and has supported clients through GAAP transitions. In addition, Paul has supported clients preparing for exit and IPO processes. His approach is underpinned by regular contact and pragmatic support for both his clients and teams.
Further, Paul has led and implemented HR strategy and procedures, and was an HR Partner in Scotland for four years. He has also worked in Transaction Services and was an accredited Transaction Services Partner.
Paul is based in India out of Gurgaon.
