Anish De is KPMG’s Global Head for Energy, Natural Resources, and Chemicals (ENRC). He has over 25 years of experience in energy sector consulting. As a renowned power sector expert, Anish has undertaken pioneering work in sector reform and restructuring, designing sectorial policy and regulatory framework; commercial and financial advisory; PPP; strategic planning, economic analysis; investment frameworks; corporate strategies, turnaround plans, institutional strengthening, and capacity building; power markets; energy efficiency; smart grids and digital. He is a key influencer through his work, social media presence, and his op-eds in key publications. He has been a regular contributor to the leading media houses, and other business and trade publications, especially on energy transition, climate mitigation and adaption, technology developments on renewables, hydrogen, energy storage, and on the digital economy.

Anish has also been a member of several governmental task forces and committees on energy. He has extensively contributed to India’s power sector reforms. His recommendations became the basis of the formulation of the National Electricity Policy, Tariff Policy, Competitive Bidding Guidelines for power procurement, etc. He also helped usher the power markets in India and is assisting its ongoing transformation. Anish has been a member of several key government task forces and committees on clean energy. He has also worked on many corporate strategy and transformation projects. He has made a substantial contribution to national and international markets including India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Iran, Southern African Power Pool, Maldives, Turkey, and Afghanistan.
