With the island community now working its way through the recovery phase of the COVID-19 crisis, local accountancy firm KPMG is turning its attention from the initial reaction to COVID, and concerns over abilities of companies to be resilient, to more ‘forward-looking’ themes with the launch of a new webinar series, exploring the ‘New Reality’.
This follows the success of the previous webinar series, ‘When business as usual becomes unusual’, held weekly during April and May and, offered for free, they covered key topics relevant to all businesses regardless of size, employees or turnover.
The new webinars will commence on 17 June, starting with a Alf Cannan, MHK, as a guest speaker who will consider the island’s recovery phase and what our economy may look like in the future. Guest speakers will be invited to co-host the webinar each week, to participate in the other topics scheduled for the coming weeks, which include business support measures, real estate, investments, retail & leisure and technology & digital transformation. The webinars will continue to run free of charge and recordings will be available on demand.
Russell Kelly, Senior Partner at KPMG Isle of Man, commented: ‘The first series of webinars was very well received and we wanted to continue sharing useful insights and updates from KPMG locally, through our global network and those from industry on the front line of adapting to changing markets. I will be handing over the reins to Simon Nicholas while we journey through the Recovery period, with a firm watching eye on the New Reality. We wish to continue supporting local business during these extraordinary times and extended periods of uncertainty, and these webinars are our way of giving something back to the local economy’.
