The KPMG Deal Advisory team in the Isle of Man has recently advised Palatine Private Equity LLP on its acquisition of SMP Partners as part of a management buy-out led by David Hudson, who will become the new CEO upon the securing of the relevant regulatory approvals.
“It is fantastic to be involved with another significant transaction in the corporate services sector, particularly as this deal sees a local management team being provided with the backing to develop their business further over the coming years, no doubt with a benefit to the Isle of Man” said Kristan King, Associate Director.
The KPMG team was led by Russell Kelly, Managing Director and Kristan King who have both worked on a number of transactions in the corporate services sector in recent years. KPMG provided financial, taxation and regulatory due diligence services to Palatine during their consideration of the transaction.
“The transaction shows how successful the leadership team at SMP have been to date in developing a business that is attractive to the UK private equity market” said Russell, “our dedicated local M&A team was able to fulfil the broad scope of due diligence required in a transaction of this nature, leveraging the experience that we have built over many years.”
