On 31 March 2020, the Isle of Man Treasury announced extensions to certain tax return filing deadlines as a result of the disruption being caused by COVID-19.

The following tax returns can be submitted to the Isle of Man Income Tax Division on or before 5 June 2020 without the normal late filing penalties being incurred.

  • Individuals: Isle of Man personal tax returns for the year ended 5 April 2019, which would ordinarily incur a second late filing penalty of £200 if not filed by 6 April 2020.
  • Corporates: Isle of Man corporate income tax returns with a filing deadline between 1 April 2020 and 5 June 2020, either to avoid a first or second late filing penalty.
  • Employers: Isle of Man employers’ tax returns for the year ended 5 April 2020, ordinarily due for submission no later than 5 May 2020.

The notice issued by the Treasury in relation to this measure is available here.

The Treasury have confirmed that they will continue to monitor developments in relation to COVID-19 and provide updates to deadlines as appropriate.
