Requirement to Correct

The UK’s Requirement to Correct will end in September 2018. Failure to correct regime will apply featuring harsher penalties.

16 March 2018, 9:00AM - 11:00AM, GMT Douglas, Isle of Man

Date: Friday 16 March

Time: 09:00-11:00

Location: Sanderson Suite, Claremont Hotel, Douglas

We were pleased to welcome Graham Davies of HMRC to the Isle of Man on 16 March. Graham is a senior member of HMRC’s centre for offshore evasion strategy and is heavily involved with the Requirement to Correct.

As most in the industry will be aware, in September of this year, the UK’s Requirement to Correct will come to an end, and the Failure to Correct regime will apply, featuring at its core much harsher penalties than those currently applicable.

This event offered an opportunity to hear direct from HMRC in relation to the Requirement to Correct and to raise questions you may have.

Following HMRC there were presentations from Derek Scott, Greg Jones and Katie Kneale from KPMG.

Finally, the panel addressed some of the concerns showed by practitioners and advisers and provide feedback from HMRC.
