KPMG Isle of Man has announced a grand total of £20,818.37 for its chosen charity in 2016/18, Manx Cancer Help. This is an Isle of Man registered charity, whose primary role to support Isle of Man residents who have been affected by mental health issues.
Our CSR team has been working hard this year to organise a new CSR intiative called KPMG Charity Challenge. The Charity Challenge ran throughout 2018 and saw each department go head to head to raise as much money as possible for Manx Cancer Help. Fundraising activities include participating in external sport events, bake sales, and organising events such as the Promenade Relay and a quiz night.
As we turn our attention to Manx Cancer Help, we look forward to another record breaking year. Our staff voted to support Manx Cancer Help, with many of our families or friends having been touched in some way by mental health.
Although mental health is being addressed more frequently, when required, there is limited support available on island. Manx Cancer Help's primary aim is to help as many people on the island, that can benefit from their service, alongside their current cancer support they provide with enthusiasm and passion. Each new refferal will recieve Cognative Behavioural Therapy and will recieve their appointment within 10 working days. The efforts by the charity are to raise awareness, provide treatment and recruit additional therapists to those who require support.
