Our services in detail

  • A PIA deals with Secured (e.g. mortgage on your home) and Unsecured Debt (e.g. credit card, personal loans).
  • A PIA is a formal agreement with creditors that may write off some unsecured debt and restructure any secured debt on your home or business.
  • A Protective Certificate is issued to grant you protection from your creditors and give us time to negotiate with your creditors to have your proposal accepted.
  • A DSA is a formal agreement with all your creditors that may write off some of your unsecured debt (e.g. credit cards, loans and overdrafts).
  • A DSA is similar to a PIA but will only deal with unsecured debt.
  • A Protective Certificate is issued to grant you protection from your creditors and give us time to negotiate with your creditors to have your proposal accepted.
  • Bankruptcy is a formal, High Court process for people with debt over €20,000 where a DSA or PIA is not generating a solution.
  • You may self-petition for Bankruptcy and KPMG can assist you with all steps in this process.
  • Once you are declared Bankrupt your property and possessions are transferred to the Official Assignee who will look to maximize the return for your Creditors.
  • A settlement agreement could be reached with your creditors without requirement of a PIA, DSA or Bankruptcy.
  • Individual settlement agreements are reached with each creditor outside of the statutory insolvency process.
  • If you have not previously engaged with your creditors this could be a useful option and one we will explore with you as part of your consultation.
