We are proud to support Irish golfer Leona Maguire on her quest for success on the LPGA Tour. As part of the partnership with KPMG, Leona wears the KPMG logo on the front of her caps during all of her golf-related appearances.

Leona began her professional career as one of the most decorated amateur golfers in history. She represented Ireland at the 2016 Olympic Games, led the Great Britain & Ireland team to victory in the 2016 Curtis Cup, and won the 2017 Ladies British Open Amateur Championship. Since turning pro, she has graduated from the Symetra Tour with two tournament wins and become a fully fledged LPGA Tour professional in 2019.

"We are delighted to support Leona as shes embarks on her professional career. We are committed to investing in young Irish talent in a range of areas and encouraging exceptional people to fulfil their potential.

Leona has already demonstrated impressive academic and sporting achievements and on behalf of everyone at KPMG I’d like to send Leona our very best wishes for her future career."

About Leona

Leona Maguire holds the records for most weeks at No. 1 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings (135), and best career scoring average for Division I Women’s Golf (70.93).

After a decorated collegiate career at Duke University which included three NCAA Player of the Year awards and ACC Championships in 2017 and 2018, the Cavan native turned pro and became a KPMG brand ambassador in May of 2018. Her first professional appearance was at the 2018 Shoprite LPGA Classic in Galloway, New Jersey, USA.

Maguire competed primarily on the Symetra Tour in 2018 and 2019, with occasional participation on the LPGA and Ladies European Tours as well. 2019 saw Leona take home her first two professional wins: the Windsor Golf Classic in California and the Symetra Classic in North Carolina. Finishing seventh on the Tour’s Volvik Race for the Card list, she successfully graduated from the  Symetra Tour and secured her LPGA Tour Card in October 2019.

“It’s a huge honour and a privilege to sign with a firm that is so globally recognised and reflective of our personal values like KPMG. A lot of amateurs making the jump to the pro game struggle with getting sponsors. To have a sponsor like KPMG believe in me is a huge confidence boost.”

Joining the ranks of fellow KPMG brand ambassadors Phil Mickelson, Stacy Lewis, Mariah Stackhouse, Maverick McNealy, Paul Dunne, Klára Spilková and Ólafía Kristinsdóttir, Leona has become part of #TeamKPMG as well as an ambassador for the KPMG supported 20x20 initiative for women in sport.
