Matthew is a is a Chartered Engineer with over 20 years’ experience in the aerospace, defence, transport and energy sectors and Matthew leads KPMG Ireland's Engineering and Asset Management service offering as a Director in our Infrastructure and Government team.
Matthew has worked in the UK, USA, Italy and Ireland, he is an experienced leader comfortable operating at Executive Board level as well as leading large complex programmes and operational teams. He has a deep technical background from his pre-KPMG career where he held development roles for an aircraft OEM and spent many years advising the UK MoD on the procurement and development of complex aircraft and aircraft systems.
He has a background in experimental flight test and system development, he has held Programme Chief Engineer roles and introduced systems engineering methodologies to organisations to support the development of complex systems.
Matthew’s previous employer were a leading Space technology company and Matthew’s University Degree Thesis was on the use of complex geometry for low energy deployment of solar arrays in space.
Matthew also has a commercial background having advised on business strategy, technology development and commercialisation strategies and major technology and infrastructure procurements. He is experienced in regulated safety critical environments in several sectors.
