Csaba Kovács is an economist specialized in accounting. He graduated at the Corvinus University of Budapest then joined the Hungarian energy regulatory authority. He started as financial analyst, later became head of the department of economic research and environmental protection. In 2009 he was appointed as vice-president of the Hungarian regulator.
With his strong regulatory background Csaba joined KPMG in 2011 as a director of energy & utilities advisory practice and since 2015 he has led the same area as a partner. Csaba special fields are: strategy and implementation, market models, RES-E support schemes, stranded costs and state aid issues, cost and asset reviews, price and tariff regulation methodologies.
Csaba is still a regular speaker of ERRA’s (Energy Regulators Regional Association) price regulation trainings.
