We are committed to our communities
We are committed to our communities
“Citizenship” or “responsible citizens”. Regardless of the term, in KPMG we recognize our responsibility as social members, always adhering to our firm's principle of commitment to local communities. This way, on both a personal and a collective level, we implement a series of actions to support the communities we live and work in, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 1 and 2 for eradicating poverty and eliminating hunger.
Our actions for our communities include:
KPMG in Greece, responding to the current situation and the challenges that businesses face due to the coronavirus pandemic, is taking action and stands by the Greek businesses and executives in our country, as well as to Greeks abroad.
Specifically, our Executive Search & Selection team will voluntarily evaluate and select professionals for positions that arise within a company in order to cover their extraordinary staffing needs due to the effects of the coronavirus outbreak.
Interested companies can send their request to this email Covid19-StaffingNeeds@kpmg.gr, stating the data, what the recruitment needs are of executives and within 48 hours our specialized team members will contact them for the next steps and procedures. This offer is valid until April 30.
One of the most long-lasting action carried out by KPΜG in Greece is the “Perama” initiative, which was launched in 2005. Since then and every year, KPMG provides necessities, first aid items, clothing and toys to more than 120 families living under the poverty line. For this contribution, KPMG was recognised with the Bronze Prize in the Responsible Business Awards.
Every year on the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, KPMG cooks for a good purpose! More than 300 meals are prepared with the contribution and guidance of famous chefs and, in cooperation with the NGO “Boroume”, the food portions are delivered to people in need.
Every year since 2010, the KPMG marathon team counting more than 150 members, participates in the Authentic Athens Marathon, thus supporting the work of a number of non for profit organizations such as ELEPAP, Arktouros, Amnesty International, etc.
Our long-term cooperation with ELEPAP has given rise to a plethora of multi-level initiatives for its support. A member of our leadership is a board member offering the business perspective and being close to the needs of ELEPAP. At the same time, the people of KPMG contribute in a number of ways by holding Bazaars at our offices every Christmas and Easter and donating school supplies at the start of each school year. In addition, KPMG offers promotional space at our conferences, as means for ELEPAP to raise awareness of their work within the business world.
“Sweet Steps of Life” book
KPMG, the Gerolymatos pharmaceutical company and the famous chef Dimitris Skarmoutsos worked together for the creation of the children’s book “Sweet Steps of Life” with its proceeds going to ELEPAP. The subject of the book is the life of a disabled child and it describes the power of friendship and love.
Holiday visits to nursing homes
During the Christmas holidays, KPMG visits the “AKTIOS” dementia care unit and the “Elders' Home” in Aghia Paraskevi. A group of volunteers sings Christmas carols and keep lonely seniors company.
