KICC final was one of the most unique experiences I have had during my studies

Developing your own skills as a young professional, getting to know amazing people and solving some extremely interesting problems… that’s KICC!

Our journey as last year’s national champions took us from the Finnish finals in Helsinki to the international finals in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

This was a challenging journey that turned out to be one of the most unique experiences I have had during my studies.

Intense training period made us confident about our work

After the Finnish finals, we started an intense two-month training period in which we visited KPMG’s office in Helsinki weekly to solve cases with our coach Oskar.

This training enabled us to realize the strengths of each member of our team and gain tremendous efficiency in our case solving process. Our presentation skills also improved a lot because we got to present our solution to KPMG consultants after each training session.

The amount of training we had made us confident about our work and going to Kuala Lumpur felt more like going to perform than to compete.

I sincerely recommend KICC for everyone who is interested in solving problems and having a completely unique global experience

The trip to Kuala Lumpur was a truly amazing experience!

Students and KPMG employees from over twenty different countries made this week-long trip feel like a festival in sunny Malaysia.

During the week, I found myself solving cases with students from different nations, mingling with consultants in an exclusive dinner and having a drink-off with global partners in the after party.

I sincerely recommend KICC for everyone who is interested in solving problems and having a completely unique global experience.

For next year’s teams I have these three tips:

  1. Train A LOT! The only way to learn case-solving is by solving cases.
  2. Stay in character! You are consultants during the presentation, everything you say has to be interesting to the client (the judges).
  3. Have fun and make the most out of KICC! Both the national and international finals are great opportunities to have fun and meet interesting students and KPMG employees.
