Corporate responsibility is central to the culture at KPMG.

Corporate responsibility is central to the culture at KPMG.

Corporate responsibility (CR) is integrated into our business model, and we consider CR aspects in all our business decisions and activities. Our long-term business success depends on our employees’ qualifications and technical skills and commitment, client satisfaction and our reputation as a thought leader. All these aspects essential for sound and sustainable business relations are further discussed in our corporate sustainability report.

We are a member of the Responsible Business Forum in Estonia, and for several years we have helped assess the performance of businesses participating in the Estonian Sustainable Business Index.

KPMG actively supports its staff obtaining professional qualifications and taking examinations in professional competence. A number of our staff members hold a licence of a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or an EQF (European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning) level 5 or 6 certificate in accountancy.

We measure employee engagement through the Global People Survey (GPS) that is conducted once in two years.

We hold regular conferences, e.g. tax conferences 2015 „Eilsest homsesse“ (From Yesterday into Tomorrow) and 2016 „Üle piiri“ (Cross-border), seminars and workshops for our clients where issues of importance for entrepreneurs are discussed. We publish various newsletters dedicated to tax and management issues.

We are dedicated to supporting youth education. Together with Tartu University Foundation we award an annual scholarship for students of the Faculty of Economics of Tartu University. We also participate in the JCI project BeWise to help engage practiced and experienced visiting lecturersto deliver lectures at universities.

We are always open and eager to share our knowledge and provide pro-bono services to non-profit organisations a good example of which is our relationship with Estonian charity foundation Minu Unistuste Päev. For several years our people have also volunteered to help Oisu perekodu, a foster home for children without parental care.

Our proactive staff has been a fruitful source for various organisations involved in charity and business development initiatives, such as Junior Chamber International Estonia (JCI), Lions, etc.
