Vertical farming secures Denmark’s food supply in a future with extreme climate.

Nordic Harvest has developed a vertical farm that grows cabbage and herbs in a controlled environment. In a large warehouse in Taastrup, Nordic Harvest produces vegetables on 14 floors, and already has an agreement with Salling Group, which means that they are constantly sold out of their product range.

Nordic Harvest wants to prove that it is possible to move food production from country to city, enabling production on a smaller area, and get a crop that has the best growth conditions without the use of fertilizers and pesticides. In this way, areas that can be used for reforestation in Denmark are freed up and it ultimately helps to reduce agricultural CO2 emissions.

KPMG advises start-ups such as Nordic Harvest, which is in the growth phase, to achieve better financial management and company structure.

KPMG rådgiver start-ups som Nordic Harvest, der befinder sig i vækstfasen, til at opnå en bedre økonomistyring og selskabsstruktur.

I have worked the same with KPMG for five years on this project, where KPMG has invested in me as a potential customer and has supported me and believed that I would be able to reach my goals. In addition, KPMG has also helped me with some of the more complicated legislation within taxes.”
