Birgitte joined KPMG Acor Tax in October 2014. Before that, Birgitte worked as Tax Manager in KPMG Corporate Tax, Financial Services and as Tax Advisor in KPMG's Individuals Tax department. Birgitte also has 9 years of industry experience from working in the tax department of one of the major financial institutions and has been member of various working groups in financial business associations.
Birgitte has broad experience in providing advice on Danish and international corporation tax issues with special focus on tax structuring, investments and tax issues in financial institutions.
Furthermore, Birgitte has served as instructor at KPMG's internal education programme for accountants and given lessons at client seminars on various corporate tax related topics.
Casper has been with KPMG Acor Tax since 2015. He has 9 years of experience in working with VAT and special payroll tax. Casper has great experience through successful delivery of VAT and payroll tax advice, primarily to the financial services sector and suppliers of financial services.
Before joining the advisory business, Casper achieved a PhD for his thesis “VAT and structural neutrality” at Aarhus University. He has worked at a Danish law firm where he specialised in cases on VAT and special payroll tax, and before joining KPMG Acor Tax in November 2015, Casper was employed at another Big 4 company.
During his career, Casper has primarily served a number of different financial institutions in Denmark where his focus is on optimising clients' indirect tax position as well as identify and cover indirect tax exposures.
Casper is also the author of a wide range of different articles regarding VAT published in both national and international tax journals. Furthermore, he is an external lecturer and mentor at Copenhagen Business School (CBS) and author at Karnov.
Since 2017, Mads has been driving the Compliance and Transformation agenda in KPMG Acor Tax where he is leading our Global Compliance Outsourcing engagements. Mads has 12 years' experience of working with various corporate and business finance tasks. He started his career in another Big 4 company working as an external auditor and accounting advisory consultant.
Mads is an experienced Finance Director and comes with a strong background working with broad finance topics in multinationals and publicly listed companies. His experience is reflected in strategic and practical advisory services on e.g. Finance Transformation, Business Process Improvement, Audit, Accounting & IFRS, Management Reporting, Risk Management, Shared Service/Outsourcing, Corporate Governance and CSR.
Thomas has been with KPMG Acor Tax since May 2015. Thomas has over 10 years' experience advising international corporations. Prior to joining KPMG Acor Tax, Thomas worked with another Big 4 company since 2005 in which Thomas was responsible for the Scandinavian Tax Desk in New York from 2010-2012. Thomas is specialised in M&A, including international tax structuring and corporate tax restructurings, with a special focus on renewable investments. Thomas has published several articles in both Danish and international tax journals.
Christina joined KPMG Acor Tax in 2014. She started with KPMG Denmark back in 2005 and briefly joined KPMG Sweden for a limited time in 2014.
She specialises in national and international taxation of mobility workers and the consequences for the employers, the special tax issues for employer and employees in relation to cross-border taxation in the Nordic countries and in the Øresund region, and social security regulations both inside and outside the EU.
Christina has worked with both Danish and international large HQ clients within all different types of industries, as well as medium-sized companies and private clients.
Christina holds a Master of Laws from Uppsala in Sweden, and she has also studied tax law at University of Minnesota and University of Copenhagen. Christina also has a long experience in teaching internal and external auditors and clients in Danish and Swedish tax legislation and social security.
Jakob joined KPMG Acor Tax in 2014 and has ever since primarily worked with M&A, international taxation and taxation of shipping businesses.
Jakob provides tax assistance to a broad range of private equity funds and other corporations in M&A projects, including plain acquisitions, de-listings and add-on investments, especially within renewables and utilities. Furthermore, Jakob assists with general corporate tax issues for both domestic and international clients, including restructurings and tax compliance matters.
Jakob holds an MSc in Business Administration and Commercial Law from Copenhagen Business School and he has been an external lecturer of master students at Copenhagen University at the courses Tax Law and the Entrepreneur’s Legal Challenges since 2014.
Lars has 10 years of experience advising businesses on a wide range of indirect tax issues. He started his career with another Big 4 company for which he worked in both Denmark and the UK. He also worked as an in-house VAT adviser for a Danish listed company before joining KPMG Acor Tax in 2017.
Lars has significant experience advising Danish and multinational businesses on their indirect tax affairs and obligations as well as supporting clients on various secondment roles, based on his in-house experience. He has worked with clients from a range of industries, including shipping & offshore, engineering & construction, manufacturing companies, natural resources, logistics, pharmaceuticals, real estate etc. Furthermore, Lars has worked extensively with M&A for a number of years, providing him with a broad understanding and knowledge of how indirect taxes impact various commercial aspects.
Michael has more than 10 years of financial compliance experience working with various financial areas in large multinational companies. Before Michael joined KPMG Acor Tax in 2018, his career started at another Big 4 working as IT auditor and adviser, after which he worked with risk and compliance in two big Danish firms where he worked with a wide range of financial compliance topics, IT security governance and programme management.
Michael has in-depth experience in running large cross-organisational projects in multinational companies as well as heading IT security governance teams in the implementation of IT security governance. Michael specialises in setting up complete control environments ranging from big data analytics, internal and automated controls, robotics process automation to machine learning and artificial intelligence, framing these within the business requirements, thus securing true organisational implementation of best practices.
Monica joined KPMG Acor Tax in March 2015. From 2011 to 2015, she worked in the indirect tax practice at another Big 4 company after starting her career working as an audit trainee.
Monica is specialised in working with VAT exemptions and the challenges they cause, especially within the financial services sector and real estate industry.
Monica has worked with many large clients in the financial services sector operating on the Danish market, focusing on optimising clients' indirect tax position as well as identifying and covering potential indirect tax exposures. Monica is also dedicated to assisting with indirect tax with regard to M&A.
Monica has a Master of Science (MSc) in Business Administration and Auditing from the Copenhagen Business School. Monica also has experience from lecturing in VAT at Copenhagen Business School (CBS) from 2016 to 2019.
