The Global and the Danish energy outlooks are very different. Population growth and a rise in global energy demand up to 40% towards 2035, especially from emerging markets, will drive a high demand for energy globally.
In Denmark, the total energy consumption is expected to be stable despite an expected growth in the economy and in population. The “energy conversion” from fossil fuels to renewables will be a central part of the energy outlook in Denmark. The Government’s aim of having a transport and energy system 100% based on renewable energy by 2050 is affecting public and private sector decision-makers on a daily basis.
Navigating in this environment between the global demand for both renewable and non-renewable energy and the Danish energy conversion is the test both public and private energy companies have to pass.
