Webinar overview

The recent technological advances and the rise of unstructured data have introduced the need for identifying new ways of sourcing, organising and analysing such information. The advances in Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), have allowed organisations to process large amounts of text automatically, which was previously beyond their capabilities. Example areas of application include, automated document classification, sentiment analysis and document understanding. This webinar aims to introduce the basic concepts behind NLP and how it can be applied in real-life scenarios, enabling organisations to advance to the next level and stay ahead of the competition.

  • Introduction to NLP technologies and the categories of unstructured information (e.g. text, audio, images, etc.)
  • Cases of applying NLP techniques on unstructured data in real scenarios (e.g. evaluating contracts and agreements, chatbots etc.)
  • Techniques of data pre-processing for text
  • Models and methodologies showing high accuracy for each category (e.g. traditional Machine Learning models, Deep Learning models, etc.)
  • Different applications in business.

This webinar is mainly addressed to technical audience e.g. Data Scientists, Data Modelers and other professionals that are involved in topics such as computer science, artificial intelligence and linguistics. Even though this is a technical webinar, the high-level idea and capabilities of NLP can be easily understood by professionals in non-technical fields, such as managerial staff, Directors of Procurement & Legal Departments or even business owners who wish to improve their knowledge.

Trainers

Botsaris Konstantinos
Senior Manager, Digital Innovation Lead, Management Consulting, KPMG in Cyprus

Konstantinos holds a BEng and an MEng in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens. He also holds an MSc in Advanced Computing from the Imperial College London.

Konstantinos is a Senior Manager in the Management Consulting department of KPMG in Cyprus, leading the Digital Innovation team. Konstantinos has extensive hands-on experience in designing and developing innovative digital solutions in various platforms for a range of organisations in different industries. He is also involved in product development services.

Furthermore, Konstantinos has extensive knowledge in modern web and mobile technologies. More specifically, he applies the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies and provides end-to-end digital solutions in order to solve business problems of clients.

 

Pouis Loukas
Senior Advisor, Management Consulting, KPMG in Cyprus

Loukas holds a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Cyprus and an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Edinburgh.

Loukas is a Senior Advisor in the Management Consulting department of KPMG in Cyprus and a member of the Digital Innovation team as of February 2020. His interests are mainly focusing on designing and building data-driven solutions in the areas of Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing and Data Science.

Loukas has extensive hands-on experience in various projects related to Aviation, Maritime and Telecommunication. He has been also doing research in other areas such as Hate-Speech Detection on Social Media, Intelligent Web Content Extraction and Recommendation Systems.
