Melissa is Global Leader, Strategic Corporates, Tax & Legal at KPMG International, and Partner, UK Board Member at KPMG in the UK. 

As leader of Strategic Corporates for Tax & Legal, Melissa is responsible for connecting with the International Tax community, strategically bringing together services for KPMG clients and prospective clients around the world. Through her breadth of experience and rich professional network, Melissa facilitates International Tax knowledge across the global community of practitioners and advises the UK firm’s most significant clients on tax policy and complex tax issues, tax governance, tax technology processes and reporting changes, transfer pricing and M&A.

Melissa originally qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor with KPMG in the UK. She moved into industry, working with Accenture in San Francisco in 2001, then with Standard Chartered Bank in London and Hong Kong until 2005 - specializing in tax strategy and M&A. Melissa re-joined KPMG in 2005 and was appointed KPMG’s youngest female equity Partner in 2008. She acted as lead tax partner to a number of global banks in addition to leading the Banking M&A Tax team in KPMG in the UK.

In 2014 Melissa became Global Head of Tax at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and was accountable for setting, directing and delivering on GSK’s worldwide tax strategy. During 2016 Melissa was also Acting Group Treasurer at GSK.

Melissa returned to KPMG in 2017 as the Head of International Tax and Head of Tax Policy for KPMG in the UK based in London.
