Manish Aggarwal is a Partner at KPMG in India, and heads Corporate Finance within IGS, as well as the Energy and Natural Resources (ENR) sector in the firm. With over 19 years of experience in this domain, he has previously served as a Director at CRISIL Risk and Infrastructure Solutions Limited (a Standard & Poor’s company), leading the consulting and transactions verticals.

Over the years, Manish has successfully led many transactions, working and advising large strategic investors, including both Indian and global developers as well as infrastructure funds. He is currently engaged with large investors and sovereign funds, assisting them with navigating the Indian policy and regulatory environment, as well as addressing specific sector issues while also identifying opportunities across the infrastructure space. He is, at present, leading large transactions in airport and energy, working alongside international strategic investors who are evaluating their respective transactions.

Manish has successfully led a transaction to assist an Indian group to divest a majority of their equity stake in a thermal asset to one of the leading global Independent Power Producers (IPPs) in the world, which was awarded the ‘best M&A deal of the year’ for 2013 by a leading business news publication in India. He has also worked closely with some of the largest global private equity houses operating in India, assisting them in understanding the Indian infrastructure sector and identifying and evaluating opportunities that they may capitalise upon.


Through his career, Manish has been associated with engagements in the areas of energy, water, transportation, urban infrastructure and infra financing. Having travelled widely, he has exposure with working on transactions in countries such as Sri Lanka, the U.K., the Middle East, Latin America, Singapore and Europe. He actively participates in industry forums and shares routinely his perspectives on key sector issues.
