Thai has more than 22 years’ experience as a Tax and Corporate Services professional in Vietnam. He focuses on tax planning advisory, tax compliance, M&A transaction services, corporate holding and investment holding structure advisory services, and has gained extensive experience through advising foreign investors, foreign invested enterprises, foreign companies doing business in Vietnam as foreign contractors, on tax, investment and regulatory issues.

Thai leads the Energy and Natural Resource sector in KPMG and works with many companies in the oil and gas sectors including Chevron, Exxon Mobil, Pearl Energy, BP, KNOC, SK, Geopetrol, Idemitsu, Neon Energy, Santos, Kris Energy, and many oil and gas foreign service contractors. Thai also works with a number of power and renewable energy projects in Vietnam to support them during the investment planning, investment implementation and operational stages.

Thai manages a portfolio of clients in the consumer goods sectors, including food and beverage, tobacco, electronics, cosmetics, packaging, trading and retails, and maintains a good working relationship with local tax authorities. Thai has advised many big international companies in the consumer goods sector in business strategy planning and restructuring of corporate structure, supply chain, merger and acquisition, etc.

Thai has provided advisory services for various BCC projects, BOT projects, ODA projects, and cross border purchase and sale transactions.

Thai leads a team handling manufacturing sectors by working with many companies located inside industrial zones, processing zones and helping them with business expansion, operational tax compliance.

Thai leads the service line of shipping and transportation, helping client in this sector cope with international tax issues and specific industry tax issues.
