Peter Zalkind is a Principal in KPMG’s Health and Government Solutions Advisory practice and Management Consulting Lead for the Microsoft Alliance. He is results oriented, experienced management executive with a deep understanding of State and Local Government. He is also a tested leader with extensive experience in developing new business, managing executive relationships, building teams and culture, and leading multiple initiatives and large projects. He has a broad technical background with outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities along with a track record of success with high customer satisfaction.

Recent engagements

  • He served as Senior Director and held P&L responsibility for $275M business focused on selling the entire Microsoft portfolio of software solutions. He also managed a team of eleven directs across six states (AK, CA, ID, MT, OR, WA) serving State, County and City customers. He was also an Executive sponsor for Microsoft across the entire customer base. Moreover, he led contract negotiations with State of CA for O365, Dynamics and Azure procurements.
  • As Director of Enterprise Services, he held P&L responsibility for a $120M business focused on selling and delivering leading edge infrastructure and cloud solutions. He delivered forty percent revenue growth YoY and led the fastest growing segment in company.
  • He created Microsoft Cloud offerings in the Public Sector impacting a $1B business. He also managed an $80M budget across multiple business groups contained within the Office of the CTO and drove overall strategy for the organization, including two major re-organizations, PRISM, budget planning, and Mid-Year processes.
  • He served as Practice Manager in the Communications Sector where he managed over $52M services business with seventy-two resources and eight direct reports. He achieved more than 235 percent growth in MCS billings in FY07 and 177 percent in FY06. He finished FY07 as the number one Engagement Manager in US Services in terms of MCS billed by $3M. He also achieved $14.5M in revenue against a budget of $6.2M in FY07.
  • He held Global responsibility for the use of Offshore, MGSI resources for IPTV related projects. Services were delivered to India, Singapore, Japan, Mexico, Dominican Republic, and the United States.
