Tomás is the Head of International Tax for KPMG in The Bahamas. He has been with KPMG for 10 years, with professional experience gained in Portugal, the UK Crown Dependencies and the Caribbean. Tomás specializes in all aspects of offshore tax matters, as well as tax transformation projects. Tomás has experience across a significant range of sectors, including Family Offices, Private Clients, Banking, Asset Management, Oil & Gas, Government, Tourism, Travel and Leisure.

 Experience

  • KPMG global subject matter expert on economic substance, having lectured at various forums, including the funds association, business schools and KPMG member firms across the globe.
  • Global business sponsor of the KPMG Economic Substance Tool.
  • International tax planning and managing the tax traits of cross-border transactions and corporate reorganisations regarding investments in various parts of the world, having advised on inbound and outbound investment projects in the financial services, oil and gas, media, energy, and other sectors.
  • Advising on intra-group transactions according to the arm’s length principle, as well as preparation of Transfer Pricing reports in several jurisdictions.
  • Managing FATCA/CRS advisory and compliance engagements, as well as supporting change management in respect of the implementation of the AEOI regimes.
