Hoda is the Australian Co-Head of the KPMG Law Corporate, M&A Practice, specialising in mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets, restructuring, joint ventures, corporate law, governance and board advisory.

In mergers and acquisitions, Hoda advises both sellers and buyers on all aspects of the sale/acquisition process, regularly advising founders in a competitive sale process, and buyers on their acquisition ambitions.

In equity capital markets, she is experienced with all aspects of the investment lifecycle, drawing on her top-tier and investment banking experience having advised on numerous market-leading and 'first-to-market' primary and secondary raisings, acting for both unlisted and listed clients (including for foreign and dual-listed clients), as well as brokers, on their complex capital raisings and fundraising strategies (equity, debt, hybrid).

She works closely with boards in the for-profit (listed and unlisted environment) and not-for profit sectors on all matters to do with directors' duties, board and committee formation and conduct, stakeholder (shareholder, member, regulator) engagement and management.

Previously a key member of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission Taskforces into the HIH and James Hardie Investigations, two of the highest profile wins for the Commission, playing a key role in the Commission’s investigations of breaches of directors’ duties.
