As KPMG’s National Leader for Mutual Banks in Australia, Darren’s focus is on enabling KPMG to play a meaningful role in supporting the mutuals sector. A senior audit partner, and lead partner for Financial Services in Adelaide, Darren has a deep understanding of the sector, what it stands for, the relationship it has with its members and the pivotal role it plays in the national financial services landscape.

Using his comprehensive network within the firm and detailed knowledge of the regulatory, operational, and strategic challenges the sector faces, Darren brings insights to his clients within the banking, wealth management and insurance industry. Through understanding his client’s strategy, Darren quickly becomes a valued strategic partner, going beyond the technical to bring a commercially based service.

For more than 30 years, Darren has worked with a broad range of clients, including several of Australia’s leading mutuals. He specialises in external audit and advisory services for customer-owned financial services clients and has extensive experience in auditing member-based incorporated associations.

In 1993, Darren joined KPMG as a graduate, and became Partner in 2008.
