Key updates to the HKMA’s Supervisory Policy Manual RE-1

Subsequent to the review of recovery plans submitted to the regulator by banks in Hong Kong, the HKMA has recently issued an update to the SPM RE-1 in June 2020, which is effective immediately.

The HKMA’s updates were designed to provide greater clarity on its expectations around the recovery planning process and establish a linkage between the SPM regulations and Banking Ordinance laws. This publication summarises the key updates.
