KPMG China has released the latest Q2 edition of the China Economic Monitor (CEM). The new issue analyses the latest trends in the macro economy and recent regulatory changes.

In 2020Q1, China’s economic growth plunged to -6.8% amid COVID-19, the first contraction since 1992, when quarterly records were first published. China has been strengthening counter-cyclical adjustments to cushion the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic at home and abroad and we believe the economy should continue to recover during the rest of the year.
