A report that examines the structure and latest developments of the Asia Pacific FX market
KPMG China and the Global Financial Markets Association (GFMA) have launched The Asia Pacific FX Markets: Opportunities for Growth – a study that analyses the latest developments of the Asia Pacific FX market.
The objective of this study is to examine the structure and development of the FX market across the region, including the roles of different market participants, methods of execution and the regulatory environment. It aims to illustrate the changes in regional FX markets over the past decade and shed light on their future direction.
The report was jointly written by KPMG China and GFMA and all the statistics used in the report are based on a combination of data from the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) Triennial Central Bank Survey of Foreign Exchange Market Activity from 2004 to 2016; GFMA and KPMG China research; and multiple interviews with market participants, including members of the GFMA’s Global FX Division.
