Interest in the ESG market is undoubtedly growing amongst investors and the market landscape remains ever-changing. In Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (“HKEX”) launched the Sustainable and Green Exchange (STAGE) on 1 December 2020, a first-of-its-kind investment product platform supporting sustainable and green finance in Asia. In China, it is anticipated that listed companies in the A share market may be required to prepare ESG reports in the near future. These changes will all impact many investment decision in the Hong Kong and mainland China ESG market.
