Maria joined KPMG in Macau in 1985 and has worked in KPMG Shenzhen during 2003 to 2005 before joining KPMG in Guangzhou. She is now a partner in audit and was the Firm’s Partner in charge of People, Performance and Culture in 2014-2018.

She is familiar with the regulations in mainland China and IFRS and she has extensive experience in a number of audit engagements for listed companies and foreign invested enterprises throughout the PRC, Hong Kong and Macau. Her industrial experiences include banking, manufacturing, air lines transportation, and trading industries.

Maria has close contact with Macau Finance Bureau, the Guangdong provincial government departments, and professional bodies. She currently participates in policy and accounting standards setting and work force across mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau. She has delivered keynote speeches in conference, seminars and workshops in areas of accounting standards, professional ethic, Macau Tax and on latest development in relation to the accounting profession.

In her current role, her key responsibilities are to formulate people strategy to help KPMG China achieve sustainable and profitable growth in one of the fastest growing economies in the world and to gain recognition both internally and externally as the Employer of Choice.
