Our firm is proud to have received the Silver Award at the 2017 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE) in the ‘Servicing and Trading’ category. Winning the award reaffirms our efforts in advancing environmental sustainability.
The award presentation ceremony was held on 4 May at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, and officiated by the Chief Executive of Hong Kong Carrie Lam. Finance and Administration Director Bon So represented our firm to receive the award.
Subsequently, a best practice sharing session for the public was held on 7 May, and Corporate Social Responsibility Partner Pat Woo shared his insights about the corporate sector’s role in effecting social and environmental change in our community.
“Corporations have a unique role in galvanising social and environmental changes,” Pat said. “KPMG has a strong mission to advance environmental sustainability, and understands that change could happen when partnerships are made to enable synergies. We therefore work tirelessly to engage and partner with our landlords to facilitate these green conversations and seek ways to improve our office buildings’ energy efficiency and waste management practices. We will keep on engaging different stakeholders, internally and externally, to create collective value and impact in our community.”
The Silver Award recognises our efforts in reducing our impact on the environment and driving behavioural change, including:
Recognised as the most prestigious and reputable award scheme in Hong Kong, the HKAEE was launched in 2008 and commends organisations that have demonstrated outstanding environmental performance.
