KPMG has appointed Simon Studer to take over as the new Head of the Bern-Mittelland Market Region at the end of March. Studer, who has been overseeing Audit in this region since July 2019, will succeed Hans Jürg Steiner.
Simon Studer will be taking over as the new Head of the Bern-Mittelland Market Region. He is to succeed Hans Jürg Steiner, who has been in charge of the market development activities for the past ten years and honed KPMG’s profile in the region surrounding Switzerland’s capital city with the utmost dedication. Studer has been working at KPMG since 2007 and has been overseeing Audit in this region since July 2019. He is a Swiss certified accountant and holds a diploma in business administration from a university of applied sciences.
Studer launched his career at Vaucher AG in Bern and Biel before joining KPMG in 2007. During his approximately 13-year career at KPMG, with two of those years spent at KPMG in New Zealand, Simon Studer advised clients from a wide range of very different sectors, including everything from the telecommunications industry to large-scale industrial manufacturing to the consumer goods sector. He is intimately familiar with his clients’ occasionally very complex needs and challenges and is well-versed in dealing with vastly different ownership structures. Simon Studer has a wealth of expertise on performing audits for SMEs and listed companies that prepare their reports in accordance with both national and international financial accounting standards.
After attending a general management training program for board members, Hans Jürg Steiner will take on a new challenge outside KPMG while also turning his focus to BoD-related matters and continuing to share his tax expertise with clients.
KPMG has around 50 employees who provide audit, tax and advisory services in Bern.
