KPMG has appointed Thomas Schneider as the new Sector Head Insurance. In this role, he will take the lead on all market-oriented services provided to insurance companies.
KPMG Switzerland has appointed Thomas Schneider (47) as the new Sector Head Insurance. He will thus succeed Hieronymus T. Dormann, who has been at this sector’s helm for the past six years and now plans to focus exclusively on providing audit and advisory services to clients from the insurance industry. Thomas Schneider’s new area of responsibility centers around managing and coordinating all market-oriented services provided to insurance companies. These include audit tasks, performing assessments of complex issues in the areas of regulation, actuarial services and quantitative risk management as well as the provision of advisory services on tax, legal and business matters.
Thomas Schneider has amassed around 20 years of experience in this industry. He first came to KPMG as a partner in 2011 and was in charge of developing advisory and audit services in the area of actuarial and insurance risk.
Prior to switching to KPMG, the father of three held a variety of different actuarial positions in the insurance industry, most recently as Chief Reserving Actuary at PartnerRe. Thomas launched his professional career at Zurich Insurance Group. He is a qualified actuary SAA who holds degrees in mathematics and theoretical physics and is also a jogging enthusiast.
