Bill Schiller’s career began in 1986 at a medium-sized London audit firm. Bill qualified as a certified accountant in 1989, starting work at KPMG Peat Marwick in the British capital one year later. He worked for a KPMG subsidiary in Munich from 1993 to 1995, before returning to London later that year. His work at this time involved auditing insurance groups, including one of the UK’s biggest healthcare providers. Between 1999 and 2006, Bill mainly dealt with audits of international insurers at KPMG Zurich. He was made Partner at KPMG Switzerland in 2001.
Bill worked as a financial controller at several UK life insurance companies between 2008 and 2013 before coming back to KPMG in Zurich later that year. As lead auditor, he has led numerous audits of annual financial statements for international insurers and insurance groups.
Bill was promoted to Head of Audit Insurance KPMG Switzerland in 2014, also being certified by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority FINMA as a lead auditor for insurance companies. He has also been licensed as an audit expert by the Swiss Federal Audit Oversight Authority (FAOA).
