Owen Matthews

Owen studied theoretical astrophysics at the University of Leicester. He worked as an astrophysicist at the ETH Zürich, Max Planck Institute Heidelberg and IIT Kanpur.

He joined KPMG in 2017 and was promoted to Director in 2020. He is a member of the Risk Consulting team within Financial Services Consulting.

Owen advises national and international financial services clients in Switzerland. He provides advisory services covering climate risk, ESG risk and model risk.

He supports KPMG’s major banking clients in the area of financial risk analytics. He has led various major managed service engagements in model validation.

Owen has been working since 2010 in the Zurich and London financial services industries. Prior to that he enjoyed an academic career, modeling young stars and planets.
