Charles Hermann leads the financial services tax group of KPMG in Switzerland which provides tax services exclusively to banks, broker-dealers and asset managers. He has considerable experience in advising Swiss banks and asset managers on a wide range of tax issues. Charles is a frequent speaker at industry seminars on banking and capital markets tax issues. Charles’ focus is international and national corporate tax issues in the financial service industry, transaction taxes for the financial services industry, stamp taxes, Swiss value added tax issues in the financial service industry, international questions relating to Swiss withholding tax, QI questions and CH-EU agreement regarding the EU-savings directive.
Charles benefits not only from excellent knowledge of theory but also from a great amount of practical experience due to his confrontation with the day-to-day problems that his international banking clients face. His daily working languages are French, German and English.
