Our people: Sarah

How did you get involved with KPMG and what made you decide to join us?
I joined the KPMG Forensic practice as an intern during my Master’s studies in Economics at the University of Lausanne. I particularly appreciated the fast-moving work environment and team spirit. I was then offered a permanent contract and a few years later, I joined the FS Regulatory and Compliance team, where I’m now an Assistant Manager.

What are, in your view, the greatest benefits of working for KPMG?
At KPMG, the diversity of our mandates and clients enables consultants to get a broad understanding of a market. You will train your adaptability, flexibility and capacity to work under pressure. In addition, KPMG offers great career development opportunities even for young professionals. You’ll be able to reach your full potential.

How does KPMG support you to learn and grow?
Besides digital and soft skills trainings, KPMG sponsors external technical education. I personally passed a Certified Fraud Examiner diploma, which deepened my theoretical knowledge in the fields of anti-money laundering or fraud risk which I use with clients every day. At KPMG, you’ll never stop learning and improving.

What is your personal career highlight at KPMG?
I’m personally proud when, following a mandate, a client calls us back because of the quality of our work. As a consultant, I’m a privileged partner of the client. I get insights on his issues and sometimes become a sort of confident. When I feel that a trust relationship has developed out of a mandate, I consider it a true highlight.

What would you tell people who are not sure if they should join KPMG?
In addition to a challenging work environment and a steep learning and development curve, you will be part of a team of young professionals. In FS, a social committee organizes team events during the year in order to share relaxing and fun moments together.
