Staying connected, engaged and productive
Moving to a virtual workforce – i.e., working from home – or agile arrangements can pose numerous challenges for businesses, from technology to management expectations, especially if things don’t return to normal after a few weeks, or even a few months. This new reality requires strong, steady leadership, and clear, consistent communication with employees, suppliers, clients, and stakeholders.
As in any emergency situation, it’s vital to stay connected, boost morale, and remind everyone that they have an important role to play. Management should assess if the business has the necessary remote working infrastructure, policies and mechanisms in place. Technology such as email, virtual private networks (VPNs) and cloud-based applications enable employees to continue operating critical business processes.
