Canadian importers and exporters should consider how they are affected by the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA), now that it has been ratified. Canada completed the legislative procedures for ratification of the agreement on March 13, 2020, following similar procedures by the United States and Mexico. As a result, it is anticipated that the CUSMA will replace the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) on June 1, 2020 provided the other implementation protocols are met.
