Alberta is set to decrease its general corporate tax rate to 8% (from 12%) over four years.
The province's new government tabled legislation on May 28, 2019 to decrease the general corporate rate to 11% (from 12%) on July 1, 2019, with further 1% rate reductions every year on January 1 until the general corporate tax rate is 8% on January 1, 2022. Following these reductions, which were included in Alberta Bill 3, Alberta will have the lowest provincial general corporate tax rate in Canada.
