Carolyn Cole is a leader in KPMG’s Family Office practice and has worked closely with family-owned and -operated companies, advising some of Canada’s most successful families. Carolyn’s combination of skills and experience gives her clients the advantage of integrated advice and strategy that encompasses both the business and the family.
Canadian Managing Partner, Clients and Markets
Jonathan is the Canadian Managing Partner for Clients and Markets. He has over 30 years of experience providing a variety of services and business advice to clients in industries including retail, manufacturing, distribution, transportation, life sciences, technology and not-for-profit. Jonathan has extensive experience with private financings, public offerings, US and Canadian public reporting requirements, and business combinations. Jonathan continues to work with large privately held groups, including family controlled enterprises, spanning a number of industries and geographies. He frequently works with families, Boards and shareholders to address strategy, risk, planning and corporate governance issues.

Krista has over 25 years of experience helping mid-market, private and family enterprise clients as well as large global businesses grow their businesses. She also has first-hand experience as an owner-operator for a variety of businesses. Krista works with clients to plan for succession and help manage the transition required to develop and prepare new leaders, create and deliver shareholder education, and assess and manage the family dynamics.
Partner, Estates and Trusts, KPMG Law LLP
Carla specializes in trusts and estates and personal tax planning. Carla helps her clients to develop and implement cohesive tax and estate plans that reflect their financial objectives and their short and long term goals. Carla’s practice encompasses domestic and cross-border estate planning, including Canada-U.S. planning and planning involving common law and civil law jurisdictions and forced heirship regimes. Carla works closely with family offices, including KPMG’s multi-family office, to help simplify complex wealth circumstances, protect and grow a family’s estate, plan for effective charitable giving, and uphold a family’s legacy.

John is a Tax Partner in KPMG’s GTA Enterprise practice and specializes in providing tax services to Canadian-owned private companies in a number of industry sectors. John has over 25 years of experience as a tax professional and was part of the KPMG team that built Enterprise. He specializes in providing tax advice to high net worth families including business owners. John was national leader for tax planning with respect to Estates and Trusts for KPMG. John helps his clients deal with succession through estate planning which includes the use of life insurance and donation planning through effective use of private foundations.

Chris is a Senior Tax Partner in KPMG’s tax practice in Toronto. He has over 25 years of experience providing tax advisory services to public and private corporate clients and to high net worth families. Chris specializes in tax advisory services to high net worth families and family offices. He is the principal tax advisor to several prominent Canadian families and also provides complex mergers and acquisitions support to KPMG’s Enterprise Tax Practice. He is broadly experienced in Canadian taxation matters including income tax planning, trust and estate tax planning, shareholder agreements, public markets transactions, corporate reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, tax efficient structures and financial restructuring.
Senior Relationship Manager, KPMG Enterprise
Ed is a senior relationship manager with KPMG Enterprise in the GTA. He has specialized in taxation matters since 1980 and has assisted many entrepreneurs in arranging their business affairs to lower both personal and corporate taxation. In addition, Ed has provided assistance with family business succession matters. Ed has been with KPMG for over 38 years advising private owners in various areas of family governance and business succession.

Mike is a partner with KPMG Enterprise in Vancouver, Canada, specializing in Canadian taxation. Over his 34 years in public practice, Mike has worked with a variety of public and private companies providing taxation and business advisory services. In recent years Mike has focused on working with business families to help them integrate the family, business and ownership elements and ensure family harmony and long term prosperity.

Dan has served his clients and the community for more than 20 years and currently leads the KPMG Enterprise Calgary group. He provides audit tax and business advisory services for private companies and takes pride in his client-focused approach.
Office Managing Partner, Vernon
A recognized tax specialist with over 25 years of experience, Dave is the Partner in charge of KPMG’s Tax practice in Vernon. Dave’s primary focus is tax planning and business advisory services for private companies and their shareholders. He has extensive experience advising clients on acquisitions and divestures, effective structuring of their operations, compensation strategies, and estate and succession planning.
Office Managing Partner, Lethbridge
With over 15 years of experience, Colin specializes in assisting clients in corporate and personal income tax advisory and tax compliance services with a particular focus on the agricultural industry. He has published on tax management strategies for farmers and spoken at the Agriculture Update for Professionals seminar sponsored by Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development.
Executive Director, Corporate Finance
Eric has more than 30 years of experience in corporate finance, private equity, venture capital, mergers & acquisitions. During his career, Eric advised entrepreneurs on corporate, estate and tax planning issues. Over the last 25 years, he was CFO of various publicly traded, venture backed and private companies, in the manufacturing, technology and entertainment sectors. He also worked as Vice-President of a private equity group, managing a portfolio in the industrial and manufacturing sectors. Eric Favreau is a member of the Quebec Bar since 1987 and holds a MBA in finance from HEC Montreal. At KPMG, Eric Favreau is Executive Director in the Corporate Finance Group and leads the Family Office practice in Quebec.

Sarah specializes in helping family businesses and entrepreneurs as their tax and business adviser. Sarah leads the tax practice in Regina, Saskatchewan and is a FAMILY ENTERPRISE ADVISORTM certificant.
