The Canadian M&A market continued to be highly active in Q4 2018
With 153 transactions, the Canadian TMT M&A market continued to be active in Q4 2018 and contributed significantly to Canada's overall deal volume.
Q4 2018 TMT deal volume in Canada was mainly driven by transactions in software and communication services with 70 deals and 37 deals respectively.
Cross-border are a key driver with 46 inbound and 52 outbound transactions. 70 deals involved US counterparties.
Valuation based on Canadian traded TMT companies remained attractive with revenue multiples averaging 2.0x revenue and EBITDA multiples averaging 12.9x EBITDA in Q4 2018.
