Julie Pépin is an advisory services partner in KPMG’s internal audit, risk and compliance services (IARCS) practice. She initially spent 17 years with KPMG, providing external audit and advisory services to the firm’s clients. Her career path then led her to assume the position of Vice-President, Internal Audit within a large Québec-based financial institution. She is now back in KPMG’s Montréal office.
Julie thrives on complex projects and has the ability to bring cultural change initiatives to fruition. In addition to leading internal audit teams, she has spearheaded efforts to modernize the firm’s services as well as develop work methodologies and quality assurance programs and has orchestrated innovative continuous oversight projects.
She has also supervised internal audit mandates, including those focussing on the governance process, information technology, compliance, the finance function, operating risks, business strategy, human resources management, incentive compensation, and communications. Julie has an impressive toolbox for internal audit, risk management, governance, forensic accounting and anti-money laundering services.
Her strategic thinking and ability to grasp the essentials of a process as well as her cross-functional impact within the organization contribute to her success.
