Julianna Obal

Julianna has spent her career working alongside senior Finance leaders as they implement any change that impacts the accounting and financial reporting function. She specializes in assisting clients through complex, cross-functional projects covering a wide range of business issues including regulatory change, M&A, IPO readiness and finance transformation. Her reputation as a trusted advisor is rooted in her ability to articulate solutions to complex technical issues in a simple and accessible manner. Julianna supports her clients in designing comprehensive solutions that address challenges across all aspects of the Finance team’s operating model. She has deep expertise in accounting, financial reporting and audit requirements and broad experience working in partnership with professionals across KPMG’s global network of member firms. 

Julianna is her team’s Lean in Audit™ champion and she regularly collaborates with KPMG in Canada‘s finance transformation team. Her solutions are designed to incorporate leading edge financial reporting practices and process optimization methodology in the context of the overall business strategy.

Julianna takes a practical approach and works collaboratively with her clients to develop a roadmap for change that is achievable, prioritized, and proactively identifies and manages risks. Julianna has worked with large listed and private companies across a variety of industries in Canada, the US, the UK and Australia and has delivered projects in partnership with KPMG Finance Transformation, People & Change, Risk Consulting, Deal Advisory and Tax.

In previous roles, Julianna has worked as an auditor with KPMG’s Audit practice in Toronto (Canada) where she audited the internal controls and financial reporting of clients ranging from private entities to public SEC registrants.
