Stan’s primary focus is in delivering corporate and personal income tax services to clients, both from compliance and planning perspectives. In addition to income tax matters, Stan is KPMG’s Northern BC specialist who primarily deals with commodity tax issues related to Provincial and Harmonized Sales Tax matters. Prior to joining our Tax team, Stan was involved as the in-charge auditor and manager for the audits of a number of not-for-profit organizations and large profit-oriented organizations.
Stan has vast experience in providing a broad range of taxation services in corporations, non-profit organizations and First Nations, including: negotiations of business ventures and structures; assisting with specific land claim negotiations, effective tax structures for specific land claims, and attending community meetings to advise on such negotiations and the related impacts; negotiating with lenders and investors to determine the best structure to preserve the Aboriginal integrity while providing adequate security; and advising on the management and governance structures of business ventures and specific claims. Stan has built a reputation with his clients as a trusted business adviser who shows true dedication to proactively addressing his clients’ issues and delivering services in a professional and respectful manner, no matter the circumstances.
