For more than 25 years, Sal has assisted taxpayers with administrative and judicial tax disputes, during all stages of the tax dispute resolution process, from audit to appeal. Prior to joining KPMG Law, Sal worked at other top-tier law firms in Toronto.

Sal has acted for large multinational corporate clients, public sector organizations, and high-net worth individual taxpayers.  He has acted for clients in many different industries, including automotive, retail, and financial. 

Sal has extensive experience with tax disputes involving many different federal and provincial taxes or tax-like amounts, including income tax (including cases involving the general anti-avoidance rule and the transfer pricing rules), GST/HST, payroll taxes, carbon and fuel taxes , tobacco tax, employer health tax, and debt retirement charges.  He also regularly advises clients on matters related to voluntary disclosures, taxpayer relief applications, and privilege.

Sal has appeared before the Tax Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal, and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.
