Mahesh is a Partner in KPMG's Ottawa office. He is the leader of the Ottawa Audit Practice as well as the Technology Industry Leader for KPMG in Ottawa. With more than 20 years of experience, he works with organizations ranging from startups to large public companies. Formerly in the Toronto office, Mahesh moved to Ottawa in 2008 to serve the firm's technology sector and owner-managed companies. He is presently the lead audit partner of several large privately-owned and publicly listed organizations across a number of industries, with a focus on technology companies. Many of Mahesh's assignments, including long-term assignments within KPMG's Canadian Department of Professional Practice and the firm's International Headquarters in the Netherlands, have involved complex accounting, auditing and risk management matters. He also serves as a technical resource for other engagement teams in the areas of revenue recognition, debt and equity, business combinations, internal controls, U.S. GAAP, IFRS and Initial Public Offerings. Mahesh is a Securities Partner and has led a number of US and Canadian equity and debt offerings, including initial public offerings, which have provided him with an excellent working knowledge of regulatory and accounting requirements in Canada and the U.S. Additionally, Mahesh helps clients manage their operations by providing business advisory services, such as strategic and internal control reviews, risk management, governance and accounting advisory projects. He is a contributor to KPMG's Guide to Going Public and has authored several IPO Insights articles.
